In todays Digital world  technology plays a vital role in shaping work life balance .Organizations are using technology more and more to support  employees a better balance between their personal and professional lives  This post-covid Boom in technology  not only improves employees well-being but also increases retention and job satisfaction. This blog examines how technology affects employee retention and work-life balance.

    The Positive Impact of Technology on Work-Life Balance.

  1. Flexible Working Arrangements.          
    Technology Enables employees to finish their daily task from either home or office, this  flexible working helps the employees also to reduce their daily expenses and to manage the work life balance .Dizaho, Salleh and Abdullah (2017b)

  2. Increased Productivity and Efficiency
    With the development in Artificial intelligence and development in the IT sector , Technology create a productive environment to the employee to complete the task effectively and efficiently 
    Some of the AI tools that help to increase the productivity of employees are Chat GPT and Deepseek..Automation and Ai Driven tools helps the employees to balance work life balance by minimizing the need of overtime work .  Ramachandran et al. (2021)

    Time Management is one thing that every employees should master at .Due to the advancement in technology tool like Digital calendars, task management apps, and scheduling tools help employees prioritize tasks, set reminders, and maintain a structured work routine. This ensures they can dedicate time to personal life without compromising professional commitments

    1. Burnout Due to Digital Overload
      As Employees are excessively exposed to the Digital screen and notifications, this causes mental fatigue. This excessive exposure to the Digital screen will result in burnout ,and due to burnout employee’s motivation level will decrease and will cause in high turnover .Bakker and Maslach (2014)

    2. Reduced Human Interaction
      Due to the advancement in technology ,work from home facility as become a popular among organization , Many Employee use IT tools Such as Git Hub , Microsoft Team and Zoom to work from home . Due to the advancement of Technology the physical presence of an employee is not expected by the organization , as a result of this Human Interaction is reduced.

      Lack of face-to-face engagement can make employees feel isolated, reducing their sense of belonging within an organization . Chekwa (no date)

    3. Work Intrusion into Personal Time
      Some time Technology can also be a obstruction to the employee as they are compelled to work out of working hours , Technological advancement also allows the employers to have unrealistic expectations , where employees feel compelled to respond to emails or attend meetings outside of working hours. This can disrupt family time, relaxation, and personal well-being
